We came here after having stayed in some wonderful homestays in Kerala, so were a bit out of practice at hotels – no family to talk to, and much, much more expensive. But the view was worth every rupee. We had a room on the 5th floor, from which we could see the sea (of course) and the sunrise, but also the fishing boats, fishermen’s houses, the temple, the churches, the 2 islands, the ferry boats… Truly wonderful.
Breakfast was very good, the buffet included fresh fruit, masala dosa, idli etc, plus toast, cereal and fruit juice. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms could do with a bit of updating, but with that view I wasn’t looking at the wallpaper! Kannyakamari itself is a great town to explore – lots to see and do. We also took an Ambassador taxi out to Suchindram Temple and Padmanabhapuram Palace.
